Investment Operations Consultant

A well-established asset management firm in Pasadena is seeking an Investment Operations Consultant to support its operations team during a period of significant growth, new fund activity, and technology transformation.

This is an approximately one-year consulting engagement with the potential to extend. The consultant will work closely with a lean investment operations team and provide both day-to-day operational support and assistance with project-based initiatives. This is a great opportunity for someone with asset management, investment operations, trade support, or financial services experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

• Support daily investment operations and production activities
• Assist with trade settlement, reconciliation, and other post-trade processes
• Support operational activities related to funds, ETFs, and investment products
• Work closely with internal teams to research and resolve trade or operational discrepancies
• Assist with implementation and technology-related projects as systems and processes evolve
• Maintain accurate operational data across investment and reporting platforms
• Utilize Bloomberg, FactSet, Excel, and order management systems to support daily workflows
• Help improve processes and provide additional operational coverage during a high-volume period
• Partner with investment, compliance, and other internal teams as needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience in financial services, investment operations, asset management, or a related environment
• Familiarity with trade settlement and investment operations workflows strongly preferred
• Experience supporting mutual funds, ETFs, equities, or similar investment products is a plus
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial and operational data
• Experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, or order management systems is highly desirable
• Candidates coming from financial services consulting, Big 4 advisory/business analyst roles, or similar project-based environments may also be considered
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment
• Comfortable working as part of a small, highly collaborative operations team
• Professional communication and presentation

Additional Details

This position is fully on-site in Pasadena and follows market-driven business hours, generally around 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility for an earlier schedule. The office maintains a traditional professional business environment.
