Description
Studies the basic principles of plant life and evaluates the effects of varying environmental and physical conditions. Applies standard concepts, practices, and procedures within plant biology and controlled‑environment research.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands‑on plant biology work in greenhouse and growth chamber environments.
- Support work with row crops including canola, corn, cotton, and soybeans.
- Conduct daily plant care activities such as sowing, transplanting, watering, harvesting, discarding plant material, seed processing, and cleaning.
- Maintain greenhouse and growth chamber cleanliness and organization.
- Follow established procedures and protocols with strong attention to detail.
- Perform standing tasks for extended periods of time.
- Work in elevated greenhouse temperatures, particularly during warmer months.
- Duties may vary day‑to‑day based on project needs.
Qualifications
- Basic experience or exposure to laboratory, greenhouse, or controlled‑environment work preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
- Ability to work in a hands‑on, fast‑paced setting.
Education
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Biology, Horticulture, or another life science discipline.
