Pay Rate: $25.00 – $32.00/hour
Beacon Hill is working with a growing professional services firm in the Piscataway, NJ area that is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join its accounting team. This is a hybrid, contract-to-hire opportunity offering strong exposure to multiple areas of accounting and finance, along with opportunities for long-term growth and professional development.
Position Overview
The Accounts Receivable Specialist will play a key role in supporting billing, collections, cash application, and customer account management functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to expand their accounting knowledge in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounts receivable process, including invoicing, payment posting, and account reconciliation
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up with customers regarding payment status
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries
- Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate financial records
- Apply cash receipts and ensure timely processing of payments
- Prepare aging reports and assist with collection efforts
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve account issues and improve processes
- Support month-end and year-end accounting activities as needed
- Assist with special projects and provide backup support across accounting functions
Qualifications
- Previous experience in accounts receivable, billing, collections, or a related accounting role
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
