Network Engineer (Infrastructure Operations – Cisco Environment)
We are seeking a mid-level Network Engineer to join a stable enterprise IT team supporting a large-scale, Cisco-focused infrastructure. This role is primarily operations-driven, supporting a data center-heavy environment while participating in ongoing infrastructure refresh and expansion projects.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in hands-on troubleshooting, enjoys working in a structured enterprise setting, and has strong technical depth in core networking domains.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide day-to-day operational support across LAN, WAN, and data center environments
- Configure and troubleshoot routing, switching, firewalls, and load balancing technologies
- Perform adds, moves, and changes including VLAN and switch port configuration
- Support Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, and SD-WAN environments
- Participate in infrastructure refresh initiatives including new building deployments and data center upgrades
- Monitor systems and respond to alerts and escalations
- Participate in incident, change, and problem management processes
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Collaborate cross-functionally and escalate complex issues appropriately
Core Networking Strength (Must Have Depth in at Least Two Areas):
- Data center networking (Nexus, ACI preferred)
- Routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP)
- SD-WAN
- Firewalls
- Load balancing
- General LAN/WAN infrastructure
Technical Requirements
- Strong Cisco environment experience
- Ability to clearly explain troubleshooting process and design decisions
- Experience working in enterprise IT environments with structured processes
- Comfortable in an operations-focused role with project exposure
Additional Qualifications
- CCNA or equivalent experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Excellent communication skills
