Our client, an international architecture practice, is seeking a Temp Hospitality worker to assist their NYC team. Position is Monday – Friday onsite, 8:30am-5:30pm with 1 hour lunch. Temp duration is ongoing 2+ weeks.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all food served in office on executive floor – including conference rooms and events.
- Ensure all conference rooms are clean and organized for meetings throughout the day.
- Setting up water pitchers and glasses in each room. Offering coffee/tea when needed.
- Monitoring conference room calendars to know when rooms should be re-set.
- High attention to detail for all conference room and café spaces.
- Supervising hospitality worker overseeing non-executive floor. Bringing them in to assist you when needed.
- Ensure office is organized for events. Occasional evening events (1-3 events per month).
- Handling all billing and expense filing for food.
- Purchasing snacks, coffee and milk for office.
- Assisting in loading and unloading dishwashers.
- Occasionally covering reception desk for short periods.
- Occasionally assisting facilities team when needed.
- Proactive in problem-solving to avoid issues before they happen.
- Identifying and notifying facilities team of necessary repairs and clean-ups to maintain visual quality of the office.
- Handles other special projects and related duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Degree preferred
- 1+ year of front desk experience in a professional/hospitality /hotel environment
- Excellent customer service skills. Comfortable speaking with large groups.
- Moderate level of proficiency with Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Good problem-solving skills and sense of when to escalate issues to management.
- Ability to use good judgment and maintain confidentiality.
- Active listening skills and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively and to interact with all staff on different levels consistently with diplomacy and integrity.
- Able to receive constructive criticism for the staff and/or firm’s needs.
- Able to prioritize and multitask with little supervision; also flexible in reprioritizing as needed.
- Able to work under pressure as demanded by the needs of the firm
- Maintain an optimistic attitude. No-job-too-small mentality.
