Our client, a prominent manufacturing company in Philadelphia, is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join their team on a permanent basis. Proactive and detail-oriented, the Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting compliance, training, and workplace safety initiatives. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and a passion for fostering a culture of safety.
About the Job:
- Ensure compliance with all plant safety and environmental programs, including maintaining and updating written safety plans.
- Facilitate the Safety Committee by coordinating agendas, maintaining records, and conducting compliance audits with follow-up work orders.
- Lead safety and health training initiatives, including new hire orientation, weekly huddles, and annual employee training.
- Conduct employee incident investigations and root cause analysis, maintaining accurate documentation and training records.
- Collaborate with plant management to identify and reduce workplace risks through ergonomic evaluations and job safety analysis.
- Oversee compliance with safety inspections (fire equipment, AEDs, ladders, respirators, etc.) and maintain labor law postings.
- Maintain communication between the Safety Department and Human Resources to support a culture of workplace safety.
About You:
- 1+ years of experience in a safety-related role; manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledgeable about OSHA regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Holds or willing to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification; understanding of RMP and PSM is a plus.
- Comfortable working in diverse environments, including cold/wet conditions (28-35°F), and performing moderate physical activity.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus!
