Our client, a well-known university north of Boston, is seeking an Event Operation Manager for three months with the potential to convert permanently. This onsite position has a schedule of 8:30 AM-5PM Monday-Friday with flexibility for events as needed on nights/weekends with a compensation $26/hr. This position is ideal for individuals who are reliable, who have excellent organizational, customer service, and operational skills, and who wants to be part of a collaborative and professional environment. Responsibilities:
- Manage logistics for a variety of event types
- Be a trusted point of contact for clients, foster communication, and facilitate detail requirements for housing, catering, and AV needs
- Collaborate with internal departments to create excellent guest and customer experiences
- Ensure timely preparation and delivery of relevant billing documentation
- Provide on-site management for all events including internal meeting s, social events, and overnight programs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in event management, hospitality, or any other related field
- A minimum of three + years of professional experience in event coordination/planning/management
- Outstanding organizational, time management, and verbal communication skills during stressful situations
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and the ability to adapt to new platforms
- ServeSafe, Crowd Manager, and AED/CPR certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Physical ability to lift up top 40 pounds and remain on feet for an extended period of time
