Our client, a leader in the porcelain industry, is seeking a Temporary Gallery Attendant for their NYC showroom. This position requires 5 days on site from 8:50am-5pm starting on Monday, 9/15. There is also a tentative training day on Friday, 9/12, from 10am-2pm onsite as well. The assignment will last through Tuesday, October 20th. This role is a great opportunity for someone seeking a front facing role where they can strengthen their administrative skillset! Pay rate is up to $21/hr.
Responsibilities:
The temporary Gallery Attendant will be responsible for opening the Gallery each day. Responsibilities include:
- Get keys from designated spot
- Turn on all lights
- Open gallery doors
The temporary Gallery Attendant will be responsible for answering the Gallery phone. Responsibilities include:
- Answering calls using a script
- Taking down basic client information – name, phone number, email, request.
- Always keeping the phone nearby for calls to ensure prompt responses to client requests and inquiries.
- Returning any missed calls. This should occur throughout the day AND at the start of each day, to catch up with any missed after-hours calls.
The temporary Gallery Attendant will be responsible for handling clients and walk-in guests. Responsibilities include:
- Having all clients sign in on the sign in clipboard
- Offering water/sparkling water/coffee/espresso
- If a client calls with a request to come into gallery, the temporary Gallery Attendant will ask them if they need a sales rep. to show them around, or if they just want to browse.
The temporary Gallery Attendant will be responsible for daily Gallery maintenance, including:
- Keeping water/coffee/milk/snacks/mints stocked (back fridge/top cabinets/right cabinet)
- Keeping sink area tidy and dry
- Washing any dirty dishes at end of day in dishwasher
- Emptying the dishwasher at the start of the day
The temporary Gallery Attendant will be responsible for daily Gallery closing responsibilities. This includes:
- Turning off lights in main gallery and conference room space
- Closing the sample room door
- Locking the back door
- Locking front door with keys set, then leaving the key set in designated spot for next day
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of administrative experience
- BA preferred
- High attention to detail
- Friendly, proactive, dependable
