Our client, a financial services firm located in Midtown, East Manhattan, is looking for exceptional Temp-to-Perm Chief of Staff who is a strategic thinker, communicator, and problem-solver who thrives at the intersection of operations, people, and execution. This role is central to the firm’s next phase of growth, serving as the COO’s right hand to streamline processes, enhance internal communication, and drive key organizational initiatives. Hours will be 9:30am-6pm while being in the office Monday through Friday. Permanent salary is up to $160k.
Responsibilities:
- You translate strategic goals into clear operational plans, track progress across teams, and ensure accountability in delivery.
- You serve as the COO’s voice and bridge between leadership, teams, and external partners, crafting messaging that’s clear, consistent, and inspiring.
- You support HR and recruiting initiatives, from refining hiring processes to enhancing the employee experience, enabling the company’s continued growth and performance.
- You evaluate and optimize workflows, project tracking, and reporting tools that help the organization scale effectively.
- Meet with the COO to review strategic priorities, update project status, and align on the week’s key initiatives.
- Partner with HR and hiring managers to coordinate recruiting pipelines, conduct interviews and assessments, and ensure top-tier candidate experiences.
- Develop and refine internal communication strategies, ensuring company-wide visibility into initiatives, milestones, and successes.
- Support the professional development of employees by helping structure training programs, mentorship initiatives, and performance frameworks.
- Lead or assist with cross-functional projects that improve operational efficiency.
- Prepare briefing materials, internal reports, and executive updates for the COO and leadership team.
- Collaborate with Finance and Operations on performance tracking and KPI reporting.
- Anticipate operational challenges, identify bottlenecks, and proactively recommend solutions.
- Serve as a sounding board and critical thinker, helping the COO pressure-test ideas, evaluate decisions, and manage complex situations.
- Support the COO’s communication with external stakeholders, including partners, vendors, and clients, ensuring professionalism and alignment with company goals.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional communication skills – written, verbal, and interpersonal. You can translate complex ideas into clear and persuasive messages for diverse audiences.
- Strategic and critical thinking ability – you see the big picture, ask the right questions, and connect dots across departments.
- Experience in HR or people operations, with a strong understanding of recruiting, onboarding, and employee development.
- Operational acumen – you can design, document, and improve workflows that make the organization more efficient.
- Project leadership – you’re organized, resourceful, and able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Sound judgment and discretion – you handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
