Beacon Hill has partnered with a high-growth law firm headquartered in Chicago, to find a dynamic HR Manager to support their dedicated team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced HR professional to work in the heart of downtown Chicago as the first dedicated HR person within the firm. We are looking for an operational wizard who can manage onboarding and offboarding, recruitment coordination, the performance review process, benefits administration, and compliance and reporting. This is a 6 month contract opportunity that will allow someone to assess the state of HR at the firm and determine if it is a good long term fit.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of HR including recruitment, benefits, compensation, training, employee relations, and payroll
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Coordinate benefits administration and non-benefit related insurance renewals.
- Coach and influence firm management on employee relations issues and hiring decisions.
- Conduct staff reviews and contribute to succession planning.
- Handle secretarial resource management.
- Assist with executive committee and partnership-related tasks.
- Review vendor contracts and manage the annual budget for HR vendors.
- Develop and maintain employee handbooks for non-exempt and exempt employees.
Job Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Human Resources.
- HR operations interest and emphasis.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to handle varied HR responsibilities.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and manual record-keeping.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
