Our client, an innovative law firm based in New York, is seeking a Temporary to Permanent Chief of Staff to join their busy team. The role would begin ASAP and is fully remote with hours being from 9am-6pm daily, with flexibility to be available before or after these hours as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Staffing & Human Resources:
- Oversee the firm’s staffing and resource allocation charts to meet client demands and business objectives.
- Support talent acquisition, development, and retention efforts with the firm’s HR consultant.
- Manage the calculation and payout of bonus program for attorneys and paralegals.
- Foster a positive and inclusive remote work
Technology & IT Management:
- Partner with the IT consultant to ensure the firm’s technology infrastructure is reliable, secure, and scalable.
- Collaborate with the IT consultant to execute the technology onboarding and offboarding processes for employees.
- Propose technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and client service and support implementation as needed.
Organizational Effectiveness:
- Support change management initiatives and process improvements that enhance collaboration and communication in a remote-first work environment.
- Collaborate with the Managing Partners to ensure the firm is well-positioned to respond to industry trends and market conditions.
- Support and optimize the firm’s accounts receivable processes in collaboration with the paralegal team and bookkeeper.
- Manage special projects and initiatives assigned by the Managing Partners.
Marketing & Business Development:
- Develop and execute the firm’s marketing strategy with the Managing Partners to enhance brand visibility and attract new clients.
- Support business development efforts, including client relationship management, strategic partnerships, and special events.
- Liaise with the firm’s website development to maintain and update the firm website.
- Drive the creation of marketing content and materials including regular LinkedIn posts for the firm.
- Identify conferences and other relevant BD activities and coordinate staff travel etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive operations experience, preferably within a legal or professional services firm.
- Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives and drive organizational change.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic mindset with demonstrated ability to drive business growth and operational excellence.
- Adaptability and capacity to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, remote work environment.
- Tech-savvy with a strong interest in leveraging digital tools to enhance collaboration, effectiveness, and efficiency in a remote work environment
- Based in the NYC tri-state area with the ability to commute to NYC regularly to conduct firm business.
Compensation:
- Up to 130k, hourly in line + bonus + benefits
