Our client, a law firm in Midtown, Manhattan is looking to hire a Temp Event Assistant. Position is Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm onsite. Temp duration is November 2025 – May 2026.
The Events Assistant will support the firm’s national Marketing and Business Development Department, with a primary focus on assisting the Events team and contributing to other firmwide initiatives and projects. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the Director of Change Management & Operations on the execution of firm initiatives, including project plan creation and tracking, budget and travel coordination, and invite list management.
- Support a dynamic Events team, including venue research, maintenance of internal event tracking lists, and preparation of firmwide event communications.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Technology team to support event-related email marketing efforts, including list maintenance and RSVP tracking.
- Draft and post event-related website content and assist with updates to firm Intranet event pages.
- Provide onsite support at client-facing events, including virtual programs, hosted receptions, and conference sponsorships. (Some events may take place outside regular business hours; this position is overtime-eligible.)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of professional experience is required; events experience or experience working for a law firm or other professional services firm is preferred.
- Possess a very strong attention to detail and exemplary writing and interpersonal skills.
- Executive presence is required with the ability to build relationships among lawyers and staff to achieve results. Requires a high level of collaboration with attorneys, staff other members of the marketing team, and the ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to handle a variety of projects in a fast-paced and sometimes reactionary environment.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and using the Internet is a must. Working knowledge of email marketing and web technology would be beneficial.
- Ability to be flexible and work overtime when needed. This position is overtime eligible.
Pay:
- $30-35/hour pay rate
