Our client, a top cancer hospital in Manhattan is seeking a Temporary Facilities Management Dispatcher. Position starts early December 2025 through March 2026. The schedule will be weekends (Sat & Sun) 7am-7pm and flexibility to work weekday shifts as needed to cover of other dispatchers. The person will be expected to cover 5-10 weekday shifts per month, which include:
- Day: Mon-Fri 7am-3pm
- Evening: Mon-Fri 3pm-11pm
- Night: Mon-Thurs 11pm-7am
Responsibilities:
- Cover Facilities Management emergency phone line during assigned shifts.
- Act as second point of contact for all campus emergencies.
- Evaluate issues, log details in work order system, and prioritize requests.
- Notify appropriate Facilities personnel and route work orders for resolution.
- Maintain professional, helpful customer interactions throughout the process.
- Verify completed work and close out work orders in the database.
- Greet visitors and handle incoming calls; take accurate messages.
- Assist management with resolving completed work requests.
- Improve writing and communication skills for interaction with supervisors and managers.
- Collaborate effectively with team members.
- Attend meetings and training to stay updated on policies and procedures.
- Keep personal and shared work areas clean and organized to reflect professionalism.
Experience:
- Excellent communication skills to handle an intense volume of urgent telephone calls.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion to interact with irate or apprehensive customers.
- Ability to utilize work order entry system and applications such as Microsoft Word, electronic mail, and the intranet paging system.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment (i.e., copier and fax machine).
Pay:
- $21/hour
