We’re working with an established electronic components manufacturer seeking a practical, hands-on HR Manager to run core HR functions from their corporate office. This role reports to the general manager of the US business with a dotted line to executive HR leadership in Europe. This role is a short-term contract to keep the wheels turning while a permanent hire is identified. Based on quality of work and mutual fit, that could be you.
This is a working-manager role, the sole HR employee in the US.
What You’ll Do
HR Operations (30%)
- Serve as the primary HR contact for corporate and manufacturing employees
- Manage employee relations matters professionally and efficiently
- Maintain HR policies, handbook updates, and personnel records
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Oversee onboarding, offboarding, and basic performance management processes
Recruiting (30%)
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for corporate and manufacturing roles (hourly and salaried)
- Partner with hiring managers to define roles and move candidates through quickly
- Post jobs, screen applicants, conduct interviews, and coordinate offers
- Maintain recruiting metrics and pipelines without overengineering the process
Benefits & Payroll (30%)
- Administer payroll accurately and on time; resolve issues directly
- Manage benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans
- Act as the main point of contact for employee benefit questions
- Coordinate with benefits brokers, payroll providers, and other HR vendors
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of hands-on HR experience in a small to mid-sized company
- Strong experience running payroll and benefits-not just overseeing vendors
- Demonstrated success recruiting for both professional and production-related roles
- Solid understanding of employment law and HR compliance
- Comfortable working independently and setting priorities without layers of approval
- Clear communicator who handles sensitive issues directly and professionally
Nice to Have
- Manufacturing or industrial business experience (corporate support side)
- Some combination of technical exposure across SuccessFactors, Confluence, Paychex, Sharepoint
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification
