Our client, a nonprofit arts organization located in Boston, is seeking a Development Events Assistant to support their fundraising and donor engagement team. This hybrid role has hours Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, and is compensating up to $35 per hour, depending on experience. The assignment is set to begin in early February (or sooner) and runs 6-8 weeks with a strong likelihood of extension. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and executing donor and fundraising events
- Manage and update the development events calendar
- Coordinate logistics and communication across internal departments
- Pull invitation lists, track RSVPs, and send confirmations
- Draft and distribute internal event updates
- Provide warm, professional onsite support at donor events
- Complete additional administrative tasks as needed
Candidate Qualifications
- 1-3 years of event coordination or administrative experience preferred
- Strong Excel skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive work style
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast‑paced setting
- Comfortable independently seeking information and communicating effectively
- Professional demeanor with strong writing and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to support occasional early morning, evening, or weekend events
