This is a temporary Protective Services Screener opportunity with an independent, nonprofit aging services organization that supports older adults and caregivers across Massachusetts. The role is onsite in Waltham, runs 3-6 months, pays up to $33/hour, and is 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00 with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch). The organization focuses on elder protection, case management, and community-based services, and this position plays a key role in determining appropriate responses to reported concerns.
Job Responsibilities
- Review and screen reports to determine whether they warrant investigation
- Apply regulations and objective criteria to assign response levels and next steps
- Communicate clearly with reporters, older adults, case workers, and community professionals
- Respond to emergency and crisis situations and gather time-sensitive information
- Document screening decisions accurately and promptly
- Support related administrative and coordination tasks as needed
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience or Master’s degree with 1 year of experience
- Background in counseling, case management, crisis intervention, elder services, investigations, or related fields
- Strong judgment, adaptability, and ability to work independently
- Organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable handling sensitive situations
- Reliable car, valid driver’s license, and safe driving record
