Recruiting for an experienced Human Resources Manager who will serve as the on‑site HR leader for a manufacturing facility, acting as a trusted partner to plant leadership and employees at all levels. This role is heavily focused on employee relations, workplace investigations, and day‑to‑day HR support in a fast‑paced, hands‑on manufacturing environment. The HR Manager will ensure fair and consistent application of company policies, support leaders in people‑related decisions, and foster a positive, compliant, and respectful workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Investigations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including performance issues, attendance concerns, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution
- Lead and conduct workplace investigations (including employee complaints, harassment, misconduct, and policy violations), ensuring thorough documentation, timely resolution, and appropriate follow‑up
- Coach and advise supervisors and managers on corrective action, performance management, and employee communications
- Partner with leadership to address morale, engagement, and retention concerns at the plant level
HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure consistent application of company policies, procedures, and employment practices
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (EEO, FMLA, ADA, etc.)
- Support and manage employee documentation, personnel files, and HR records
- Serve as a resource for employees regarding HR policies, benefits questions, and workplace concerns
Leadership & Plant Support
- Act as a visible, approachable HR presence on the plant floor
- Build strong relationships with hourly employees, supervisors, and plant leadership
- Provide guidance during organizational changes, disciplinary actions, and employee terminations
- Support onboarding, orientation, and training initiatives for new hires
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with hourly and salaried recruiting as needed, in partnership with corporate or local recruiting resources
- Support performance review processes and employee development initiatives
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives aligned with business and plant needs
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong employee relations background, including hands‑on experience conducting workplace investigations
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Ability to handle sensitive issues with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
- Strong communication, documentation, and conflict‑resolution skills
Preferred
- Experience supporting hourly manufacturing populations
- HRIS experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- PHR or SHRM‑CP certification a plus
