Our client is seeking an organized, efficient, and personable Temp to Perm Sales Associate / Medical Receptionist to join their boutique optical practice in Brooklyn. This role starts asap with an estimated temp trial period of 3 months. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a client/ patient-facing environment and is excited to work at the intersection of healthcare and luxury retail. You will begin by supporting front desk and administrative functions and then grow into sales responsibilities. This role is onsite Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri and Sat (practice is closed on Sun and Wed). Weekday hours are 10:30am-7pm and Saturday hours are 10:30am-6pm. Hourly pay rate is $18-22/hr depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients in a professional and welcoming manner
- Manage appointment scheduling and maintain accurate calendars
- Answer phones and respond to emails promptly
- Verify insurance and explain vision benefits (training provided)
- Assist with basic billing and claims processing
- Provide technical support to patients during pre-exam procedures
- Support doctors and staff with day-to-day operations
- Assist customers with frame and lens selections (sales component)
- Process patient check-out and payments
- Maintain a clean, organized front desk and retail space
Qualifications
- A minimum of 1-2+ years of reception out of a medical office or maybe luxury retail experience. Optical or medical office experience is a strong plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask
- Team-oriented with a positive, flexible attitude
- Professional and customer-focused demeanor
