Beacon Hill has partnered with a growing transportation company in Chicago in hiring a contract recruiter to start immediately! This is a 6-month contract with the possibility of an extension. Our client is looking for someone with a strong sourcing background who is excellent at building relationships and hitting deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Manage full‑cycle recruiting for contract and direct hire roles, including engineering, construction management, and skilled trade positions
- Partner closely with hiring managers to understand workforce needs, timelines, and job requirements
- Source candidates through job boards, networking, referrals, and direct outreach
- Screen resumes and conduct phone/virtual interviews to assess skills, experience, and cultural fit
- Coordinate interviews, gather feedback, and guide candidates through the hiring process
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records in the applicant tracking system
- Provide a positive, responsive candidate experience from initial contact through offer
- Extend offers, assist with onboarding coordination, and staffing documentation as needed
- Support changing business needs in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment
Requirements
- 2+ years of proven experience as a recruiter, preferably supporting engineering, construction, or skilled labor roles
- Experience managing high‑volume or project‑based recruiting workloads
- Strong sourcing and candidate outreach skills
- Ability to partner effectively with hiring managers and internal teams
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in a contract-based, deadline‑driven environment
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and recruiting tools
