Our client, a school in Lower Manhattan, is looking to hire a Temp to Perm Office Assistant/Front Desk Support. This position will start June 2026. Monday-Friday onsite, 8:00am-4:00pm with 30mins lunch, availability for OT as needed. The temp duration is approximately 3-4 months ahead of conversion.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with reception duties – greet, welcome, and direct all visitors
- Work on special projects for the operations team
- Assist in functions such as open houses, school tours, professional development workshops, fundraising events, Sunshine Committee activities, and other school-related activities
- Assist in the development and implementation of the school’s data management and filing systems
- Maintain database and spreadsheets related to administrative assistant position as needed
- Field all phone calls to the school
- Processes incoming mail, packages, and deliveries helping the facilitates team.
- Builds a positive, safe, and orderly environment by following procedures
- Orders office supplies, track all orders, keep record of those orders
- Manages staff lounge, supply room, and reception area
- Provides oversight for presentation of other shared spaces throughout the school
- Maintains and tracks of ordering expenses, monthly sharing updated spreadsheet and receipts with the Director of Business Operations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree preferred
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Desire to be around children and ability to interact appropriately with people of all ages and development levels
- Knowledge of GSuite products
- Collaborative spirit, proactive, follow through and committee to learning new things
Compensation:
- $24/hour pay rate, 50K perm base
