Our client, a public sector organization is seeking a Research & Acquisition Librarian to join their team on a long term temporary basis in Washington, D.C.
About The Job:
- Evaluate the research needs of economists and financial analysts to connect them with licensed economic and business data resources
- Conduct market research to identify and source data and subscription services that meet user needs
- Coordinate the acquisitions process across business negotiation, legal, procurement, billing, and data onboarding
- Serve as a point of contact for questions regarding licensed data and subscriptions
- Collaborate with vendors, data managers, and internal stakeholders to resolve data and technical issues
- Support management of data and subscription contracts, including tracking usage and providing updates
- Contribute to library initiatives related to data governance, information management, and process improvements
About You:
- Master’s degree in library science, information Science, or related field required
- 2+ years of experience as an acquisitions, serials, e-resources, or reference librarian
- Experience acquiring library electronic resources such as data services, online news, e-journal aggregators, or e-books
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret license terms and communicate requirements clearly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
About The Position:
- Duration: 18-month contract
- $37-$42/hr
- 100% onsite in Washington, DC
