Our client, a mission driven nonprofit organization is seeking a Benefits Strategy Consultant to join their team on a long-term temporary position with potential to extend in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
About The Job:
- Serve as the internal benefits strategy expert leading a major benefits transformation initiative
- Lead pharmacy benefit strategy, PBM procurement, vendor negotiations, and benefits modernization efforts
- Evaluate consultant, broker, and vendor recommendations to ensure alignment with organizational goals
- Advise on medical plan redesign, cost management initiatives, and long-term benefits sustainability
- Partner with executive leadership, legal, finance, and Total Rewards teams to guide benefits strategy
- Present complex benefits decisions and recommendations to senior leadership
- Oversee vendor relationships, risk management, and benefits-related strategic initiatives
About You:
- 15+ years of benefits strategy experience required
- Deep expertise in pharmacy benefits, PBM procurement, and vendor management
- Strong experience leading RFPs, contract negotiations, and benefits redesign initiatives
- Ability to advise executive leadership and influence high-level business decisions
- Extensive knowledge of medical and pharmacy benefit structures, compliance, and market trends
- Experience managing consultants, brokers, carriers, and external vendors
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Consulting, brokerage, or actuarial experience preferred
About The Position:
- Start Date: September 2026
- $97-$119/hr
- Limited-term engagement through early 2028 with potential extension
- Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite
