Our client, a leading provider of medical professional liability insurance and risk management solutions, is seeking a Temporary Underwriting Assistant to join their underwriting team. This position pays $24.90/hour, is 36.25 hours per week, and is a hybrid role based in Boston, MA (3 days onsite with Wednesdays required). The assignment is expected to run through February 2027 with the potential for long-term opportunities. The ideal candidate will have strong data entry experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to support multiple internal stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter, update, and maintain policy information within underwriting systems while ensuring data integrity and compliance
- Review insurance applications, submissions, and policy documents for completeness and accuracy, identifying discrepancies when necessary
- Manage underwriting files and documentation, ensuring records are properly maintained and accessible for internal teams
- Prepare routine correspondence including policy confirmations, endorsements, renewals, and notices
- Provide administrative support to the underwriting team, including report generation, regulatory requests, and cross-functional coordination
- Collaborate with underwriting, IT, and other internal departments to ensure timely processing and high-quality service delivery
- Support compliance and quality assurance efforts by maintaining accurate records and adhering to company policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; additional education preferred
- Demonstrated data entry experience with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Customer service experience and/or experience collaborating with multiple internal teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to draft professional correspondence
- Ability to learn new software systems and work effectively in a highly regulated environment
- Insurance industry experience is preferred but not required
