Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, is seeking a Temporary-to-Hire Volunteer Coordinator to join their team in Boston, MA. This hybrid opportunity requires 3-4 days onsite with remote work on Fridays, offers $30-$32/hour, and follows a Monday-Friday schedule from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM. This position combines volunteer coordination, event support, donor database management, and executive-level administrative support while playing an important role in advancing the organization’s community engagement and fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment, scheduling, communication, and engagement for organizational programs and events.
  • Assist with planning and execution of fundraising events, community outreach initiatives, and donor engagement activities.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for volunteers, community partners, and event participants.
  • Provide calendar management, meeting coordination, and administrative support to organizational leadership.
  • Maintain donor records, process data entry, and support reporting activities within the organization’s donor database.
  • Utilize Google Workspace to manage communications, scheduling, reporting, and daily administrative operations.
  • Support special projects, event logistics, correspondence, and general office administration.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Previous experience in executive support, volunteer coordination, nonprofit administration, fundraising, event planning, or office management.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, including Gmail, Google Calendar, Docs, Sheets, and Drive.
  • Experience with donor databases, CRM systems, fundraising platforms, or Boomerang preferred.
  • Passion for community engagement, nonprofit work, and mission-driven organizations.
