Asset Management firm located in Midtown Manhattan is seeking to hire a Long Term Temporary or Temp to Perm Part – Time Corporate Access Transcription & Meeting Notes Associate to support the capture and organization of information from eligible corporate-access events. This role will attend or support select investor presentations and corporate interactions, producing highly accurate, timely, and structured transcript-like records for investment professionals.
Schedule is Monday through Friday, hybrid or fully remote, 5 to 6 hours daily (20 to 30 hours per week). The position will start in October 2026. For temp to perm candidates, the temporary assignment is expected to last 4 to 6 months before conversion. Candidates interested in a temporary-only opportunity must be available for a minimum 6 month commitment. Pay rate during the temporary assignment is $38 to $43/hour. Upon conversion, the role will remain part time and offer a base salary in the range of approximately 40K – 55K annually, depending on the agreed upon work schedule.
The role is designed to help expand corporate-event data set for both investment-team consumption and Alpha Capture research. The Associate will focus on capturing what is said as faithfully as possible, including key management language, Q&A, and speaker-specific remarks where identifiable. This is not a traditional administrative note-taking role: success requires exceptional listening and written-communication skills, discretion, strong judgment, and the ability to quickly develop familiarity with equity-market terminology, sectors, and corporate-investor discussions.
The Associate will work within firm’s Corporate Access, Compliance, Technology, and investment-team workflows. All work must comply with applicable recording permissions, event terms, information-handling standards, and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend approved corporate-access events, to create accurate, timely, transcript-like meeting records.
- Capture management commentary, Q&A, key phrasing, relevant numerical detail, and changes in messaging with a high degree of fidelity.
- Produce clear, structured, and objective meeting records that preserve the substance and sequencing of the discussion.
- Attribute speakers where practical and capture meeting metadata, including company, ticker, event type, date, location, organizer, and attendees, in accordance with established workflows.
- Distinguish direct statements from any required administrative annotations; avoid unsupported interpretation or editorializing.
- Ensure deliverables meet defined quality, formatting, and turnaround-time standards.
- Work with Corporate Access to confirm that events are eligible for capture and that all applicable host instructions, disclaimers, and permissions have been reviewed.
- Support the quality-control, review, certification, and publication workflow for meeting records, including revisions where required.
- Partner with investment teams to understand terminology, company names, sector language, and recurring investment debates in advance of meetings.
- Help develop and maintain best practices for high-quality meeting capture as firm expands its corporate-event data initiative.
- Participate in training on systems, information-security protocols, Compliance requirements, and corporate-access procedures.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in court reporting, stenography, real-time transcription, legal transcription, financial transcription, or another role requiring exceptionally accurate, rapid capture of spoken dialogue.
- Proven ability to produce highly accurate, organized written records under time pressure.
- Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, editing, and written communication.
- Ability to remain neutral and objective while capturing detailed discussions.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent judgment, and a consistent record of handling sensitive information with discretion.
- Interest in financial markets and willingness to build familiarity with public companies, equity sectors, financial terminology, and investor-relevant questions.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing schedules and, at times, time-sensitive deliverables.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple events and deliverables simultaneously.
- Proficiency with standard productivity tools; comfort learning transcription, collaboration, and workflow platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Court reporter certification or comparable stenography/transcription credentials.
- Experience supporting financial-services, investor-relations, legal, consulting, or corporate-client environments.
- Familiarity with equity-research terminology, earnings, investor conferences, management presentations, and corporate-access processes.
- Experience working with audio-recording and transcription platforms.
- Foreign-language capability relevant to regional hiring needs-for example, Japanese and English for an Asia-based role.
- Experience working across geographically distributed teams and different time zones.
What Success Looks Like
- Produces consistently accurate, well-organized, near-transcript-quality records within agreed turnaround times.
- Captures information in a way that is useful to both fundamental investors and systematic/Alpha Capture users.
- Maintains an objective record of what was said, while preserving sufficient meeting structure and metadata to make the information searchable and usable.
- Demonstrates sound judgment by identifying and escalating compliance, confidentiality, or recording-eligibility concerns immediately.
- Builds sufficient familiarity with sectors and company terminology to accurately capture discussions without introducing interpretation.
- Contributes to a scalable, high-quality corporate-event data set and strengthens BAM’s note-taking and information-capture standards.
Important Role Parameters
- The role supports only events approved under Corporate Access recording and information-handling policies.
- The Associate must follow all event-specific restrictions, host disclaimers, consent requirements, and Compliance guidance.
- This position is expected to produce objective, transcript-like artifacts. Investment teams remain responsible for providing the investment context, interpretation, tone, and other qualitative observations that are not evident from a transcript alone.
- Travel and non-standard hours may be required around conferences, management presentations, and other approved events.
