We are hiring a Certified Payroll Specialist to support a stable, mid-sized general contractor with active commercial and mixed-use projects across the Bay Area. This is a hands-on role focused on certified payroll compliance, subcontractor tracking, and audit-ready reporting.
Compensation
$80,000 – 100,000 base salary + full benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k)
About the Role
- Process and review certified payroll reports using DIR, LCPtracker, or similar systems
- Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws (Davis-Bacon and CA DIR)
- Track and review subcontractor payroll submissions for accuracy and completeness
- Audit payroll records, fringe benefits, and worker classifications
- Maintain organized documentation for audits and reporting
- Partner with project managers and accounting to resolve discrepancies
- Support labor compliance interviews and requests
Requirements
- 3+ years of certified payroll experience in construction
- Strong knowledge of prevailing wage and labor compliance requirements
- Experience with DIR reporting and systems like LCPtracker or eMars
- Understanding of union and non-union payroll structures
- Strong attention to detail and organization

- Experience working for a general contractor

- Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, lookups)
