Role Overview
We’re looking for a knowledgeable and dependable Senior Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT team. This position involves delivering expert technical support to staff throughout the company, helping maintain the reliability of computers, software, and related equipment. You’ll also take part in mentoring junior team members, guiding technical initiatives, and handling advanced support issues that require a deeper level of troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities and Skills
- Provide second and third-level support for resolving hardware, software, and connectivity problems faced by employees.
- Set up, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals.
- Support and maintain both Windows and macOS platforms, including deploying system images and updates.
- Manage user accounts and permissions in systems such as Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including device setup and account provisioning.
- Take part in initiatives like technology upgrades, equipment replacements, and system transitions.
- Create and maintain documentation for internal use, including setup guides and troubleshooting steps.
- Monitor device health and performance, addressing issues before they impact users.
- Track IT hardware and software assets and help maintain compliance with licensing policies.
- Provide guidance and training to junior support personnel to foster skill development and consistent service.
- Work closely with other IT teams to support broader infrastructure and security goals.
- Lead and coordinate smaller-scale technical projects and initiatives.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools and able to use them effectively in daily work.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
