We are hiring an experienced Estimator to support preconstruction and help drive winning bids across a range of construction projects. This is a hands-on role with real impact on pricing strategy, project selection, and backlog quality.
You will work closely with project managers, field teams, and subcontractors to build accurate, competitive estimates from early design through final bid.
Compensation
$135,000 – $175,000 base salary (depending on experience)

About the Role
- Build detailed cost estimates from conceptual through bid stage
- Review plans, specs, and site conditions to define full scope
- Perform quantity takeoffs across structural, civil, and architectural scopes
- Solicit and level subcontractor and supplier bids
- Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
- Identify scope gaps, overlaps, and risk; apply contingencies
- Prepare scopes, clarifications, and exclusions for bid packages
- Support internal bid reviews and pricing strategy discussions
- Assist with change orders and cost impacts during construction
- Track bid results and refine pricing based on outcomes
Requirements
- 7+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction, heavy civil, or related sectors
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods
- Experience managing multiple bids and deadlines
- Ability to estimate from incomplete drawings and evolving designs
- Experience soliciting and leveling subcontractor bids
- Proficiency with tools such as HCSS HeavyBid, Sage Estimating, or On-Screen Takeoff
- Solid knowledge of labor productivity, material pricing, and local subcontractor markets
Nice to Have
- Experience with Design-Build or negotiated work
- Public works or complex project experience
- AACE or ASPE certification
- Advanced MS Excel for cost modeling
- Experience mentoring junior estimators
