Overview

We’re partnering with a growing manufacturing and distribution organization to identify an Inventory & Cost Accounting Manager to support cost‑driven operations in a fast‑paced environment.

This role sits at the intersection of accounting and operations, with a heavy focus on standard costing, inventory accuracy, and financial analysis. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure inventory and fixed asset data is accurate, timely, and decision‑ready, while also driving continuous improvement across cost‑related processes.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own inventory and fixed asset-related month‑end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
  • Maintain the fixed asset subledger, ensuring accurate tracking of additions, disposals, and depreciation.
  • Analyze and report on purchase price variances across materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Review and update standard costs to reflect current operations and cost drivers.
  • Support and oversee physical inventory counts across multiple locations, reconciling discrepancies.
  • Partner closely with regional and site‑level operations leaders to maintain inventory accuracy and operational alignment.
  • Identify and implement process improvements related to inventory, cost accounting, and fixed asset management.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal capitalization policies.
  • Support external audit efforts, particularly around inventory and fixed assets.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analysis for management as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in inventory and/or cost accounting within a manufacturing or multi‑site distribution environment.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience working with ERP or accounting systems (manufacturing‑focused platforms a plus).
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups).
  • Highly detail‑oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across accounting and operations teams.

Why This Role

This is a hands‑on, high‑impact position for someone who enjoys digging into the numbers, understanding operations, and improving how cost and inventory data supports business decisions.

If you thrive in environments where accuracy, ownership, and cross‑functional collaboration matter, this role could be a great next step.
