Accounting Supervisor

Overview
An emerging company in the life sciences / advanced manufacturing space is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to join a lean finance team. This is a hands‑on role with broad exposure, offering the opportunity to own core accounting processes and partner closely with senior leadership as the organization continues to scale.

The position is ideal for a strong Senior Accountant or early Manager coming from public accounting or industry who is looking for increased responsibility, visibility, and career acceleration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Maintain accurate general ledger activity in accordance with US GAAP
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and internal management reporting
  • Oversee billing and invoicing processes to support accurate revenue recognition
  • Support accounts payable processes, vendor payments, and expense reviews
  • Contribute to cost accounting, inventory, and COGS analysis within a manufacturing environment
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors and support audit readiness
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Partner cross‑functionally with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams
  • Support the implementation and optimization of a new ERP system
  • Identify process improvements, efficiencies, and opportunities for automation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Background in public accounting and/or industry strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, or manufacturing environments is a PLUS
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and core accounting operations
  • Proficiency with Excel and financial systems/ERPs
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
