Construction Company located in the Greater Philadelphia area, looking to fill a Staff Accountant role.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
- Analyze financial data and investigate account discrepancies.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
- Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain and update the general ledger.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation.
- Track and report on fixed assets, accruals, and prepaid expenses.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting and financial issues.
- Assist with sales and use tax, business tax filings, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Utilize accounting software and Excel to manage and analyze financial information.
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-2+ years of accounting experience.
- Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations.
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, formulas).
- Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication abilities.
