Position Summary
The Controller will lead the accounting and finance function for a manufacturing organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective business partnership across the organization. This role is responsible for overseeing the month-end close process, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, compliance activities, and the development of a high-performing accounting team. The Controller will work closely with executive and operational leadership to support strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting and financial reporting activities for the organization.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial results.
- Oversee preparation and review of financial statements, account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
- Develop and maintain financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
- Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and support key business decisions.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial processes.
- Coordinate internal and external audit activities.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and overall financial performance.
- Drive process improvements, reporting enhancements, and system optimization initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance team members.
- Support strategic initiatives, capital projects, and ad hoc financial analyses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Finance Manager, or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general accounting, and internal controls.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams and partner effectively with business leaders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
