Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned tax professional to take on challenging work, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the continued success of our award-winning firm. The ideal candidate will have extensive public accounting experience and a passion for providing exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Preparation & Review
- Prepare and review complex corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns
- Identify tax implications and planning opportunities for clients
- Research tax issues and provide technical guidance to clients and staff
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Review junior staff work and provide mentorship and guidance
Client Service & Relationship Management
- Serve as primary contact for assigned clients during tax season and year-round
- Communicate tax strategies and recommendations to clients clearly and effectively
- Respond to client inquiries and provide timely, accurate advice
- Participate in client meetings and presentations as needed
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service
Practice Development & Leadership
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff
- Assist in developing tax department processes and procedures
- Participate in firm marketing and business development activities
- Stay current on tax law changes and industry best practices
- Contribute to the firm’s continued growth and reputation
Required Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred
- CPA license, CPA Candidate, or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation required
- Minimum 6-10 years of current public accounting experience
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with preparation and review of corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns
- Demonstrated ability to identify client tax implications and planning opportunities
- Highly proficient with QuickBooks and/or other similar bookkeeping software packages
- Experience with ProSystem fx Tax, Fixed Assets & Research, or similar tax preparation and research software
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
