Job Duties
- Oversee complex trust and estate probate administration including preparation of legal documents, asset spreadsheets, probate pleadings, and accountings.
- Prepare complex estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax returns, and research related federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Review estate documents for compliance with state and federal filing requirements.
- Coordinate directly with banks and brokerage firms through phone, email, and in-person communication.
- Provide support to attorneys and tax preparers, including drafting correspondence and legal documents.
- Maintain accurate and detailed daily billable hour records in accordance with firm policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred; CPA, CFTA, or other relevant certifications strongly preferred.
- Minimum of four years’ experience in legal, finance, or accounting, with emphasis on tax preparation and trust & estate work.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with CCH ProSystem is a plus.
- Strong mathematical aptitude and ability to solve complex problems for tax strategy development.
