Key Job Responsibilities
- Full Billing Cycle Management: Prepare monthly and transactional bills, apply attorney edits, finalize invoices, obtain approvals, and ensure timely posting and file maintenance.
- Compliance and Guidelines Review: Analyze client billing guidelines and rate arrangements to ensure all invoices meet compliance requirements.
- Collaboration with Legal Teams: Work closely with partners, attorneys, and support staff to resolve billing issues and ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Inventory and Analysis: Monitor unbilled inventory, generate billing reports, and assist with analytical tasks related to billing status and performance.
- E-Billing Coordination: Partner with E-Billing Specialists to ensure proper electronic invoice transmission and handle any related troubleshooting.
- Adjustments and Special Projects: Process transfers, write-offs, and billing adjustments; support ad hoc billing-related projects as needed.
Key Qualifications
- Experience in Legal Billing: Minimum 5 years of legal billing experience (or 7+ years without a degree), preferably in a large law firm environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Excel and experience with billing software such as Aderant or Elite.
- Detail-Oriented & Organized: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
