Key Job Duties
- Manage and execute complex billing arrangements for attorneys and clients, ensuring alignment with firm policies, alternative fee arrangements (AFAs), and client billing guidelines.
- Prepare and reconcile monthly billing reports using Elite, Excel, and other tools; audit invoices for accuracy and ensure timely resolution of outstanding receivables.
- Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and e-billing vendors to coordinate the setup and maintenance of electronic invoicing systems.
- Respond to inquiries and resolve billing discrepancies by researching client charges, refining invoice processes, and updating master billing files.
- Assist attorneys and staff with Elite software and billing procedures; complete special billing projects and ad hoc analyses as needed.
- Monitor and follow up on noncurrent unbilled time/costs and document billing processes and special arrangements.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; equivalent experience may substitute.
- Minimum of 3 years’ billing/accounting experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Elite 3e software.
- Familiarity with major eBilling systems (e.g., CounselLink, Tymetrix 360, Legal Tracker) and ability to resolve related issues.
- Strong MS Excel skills with the ability to analyze and present complex financial data.
