Overview:
An established industry leader is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their growing accounting team, with a focus on overhead cost analysis, fixed asset accounting, and month-end close support. This is an excellent opportunity to build experience with capital accounting while contributing to a team that partners directly with operations and financial leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and execution of month-end close activities related to fixed assets and overhead accounts

Maintain and reconcile capital-in-progress (CIP) accounts and ensure timely in-service of assets

Record disposals, asset transfers, and related gains/losses on sale

Prepare and post journal entries for overhead-related expenses

Analyze monthly overhead spending vs. budget and provide variance commentary

Support external audit activities related to fixed assets and overhead

Contribute to the development of capitalization policies and related process improvements

Collaborate with operations teams to streamline asset tracking and financial reporting

Assist with additional projects such as system implementations, acquisition integrations, and tax filings as needed
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

1-3 years of relevant accounting experience

Working knowledge of GAAP, expense accruals, and fixed asset lifecycle

Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)

Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines independently

Excellent analytical and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with overhead allocation methods

CPA certification or progress toward certification is a plus
