Job Title: Senior Cost Accountant

About the Role
We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Accountant to be the go-to finance partner for our Operations team. This position blends hands-on accounting work with strategic business collaboration, ensuring our inventory, cost of goods, and operational metrics are accurate, timely, and insightful. You’ll be deeply involved in month-end close, variance analysis, budgeting, and process improvement – all while helping our leaders make data-driven decisions.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as a trusted finance advisor to Operations executives, providing clear analysis on margins, expenses, and performance drivers.

Oversee monthly inventory accounting, ensuring accurate valuation and cost of goods reporting.

Maintain and update standard costs, bills of material (BOM), and routings in line with operational changes.

Support supply chain processes with purchase order analysis and cost tracking.

Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and audit support.

Produce and distribute monthly financial reports using Global Insight Software, ensuring accuracy and actionable insights.

Compare actual results against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, highlighting key trends and variances.

Contribute to annual budget planning and rolling forecasts through cross-functional collaboration.

Play an active role in the Oracle ERP upgrade by validating and reconciling data across systems.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.

Perform ad-hoc cost and financial analysis as requested by leadership.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.

Strong background in cost accounting and inventory management.

Experience with ERP systems (Oracle experience strongly preferred).

Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
