Investment Analyst

Boston, MA | Hybrid

A Boston‑based boutique investment advisory firm is seeking an Investment Analyst to join its growing investment team. This role is ideal for candidates with 1+ years of relevant experience who are looking to build a strong foundation in investment analysis within a collaborative, research‑driven environment.

Role Overview

The Investment Analyst will support all aspects of the investment process, including monitoring existing investment strategies and assisting with due diligence on prospective opportunities. The role provides broad exposure to investment research, portfolio analysis, and client support, offering meaningful responsibility early and a clear path for growth over time.

Analysts contribute to asset allocation research, portfolio implementation, and ongoing investment oversight. Responsibilities include attending investment manager meetings, analyzing fund performance, and producing clear, concise research notes for internal stakeholders and client‑facing teams.

In addition to investment responsibilities, the analyst will support multiple client teams by assisting with portfolio management activities and preparing materials for client meetings. The role also includes ad hoc research projects and close collaboration with senior advisors.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor existing investment strategies and managers
  • Support due diligence on new and prospective investments
  • Assist with asset allocation research and portfolio implementation
  • Attend investment manager meetings and summarize key takeaways
  • Analyze fund performance and broader market conditions
  • Prepare written research notes and internal investment materials
  • Assist with portfolio management tasks and client meeting preparation
  • Support client teams with research and analytical needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a quantitatively oriented field
  • 1+ year of relevant experience in investment research, financial services, consulting, audit, or a related field
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; Bloomberg experience a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to self‑checking work
  • Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn and improve
  • Genuine interest in capital markets and investment advisory work
  • CFA or progress toward the CFA designation is a plus
