Key Responsibilities
Record and review monthly accounting activity, including general ledger and cost-related entries, with a focus on estimates and reserves requiring professional judgment.
Perform regular balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances to ensure timely and accurate close processes.
Evaluate financial trends and operational data to identify risks, opportunities, and actionable recommendations.
Contribute to internal and external financial reporting initiatives, including support for consolidated reporting.
Assist with internal controls, audit requests, and compliance activities related to Sarbanes-Oxley and other regulatory requirements by preparing supporting schedules and documentation.
Take on additional projects and responsibilities as business needs evolve.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of seven years of relevant accounting experience in a comparable environment, including at least one year in a leadership or mentoring capacity.
An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and hands-on accounting experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the role effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related discipline.
Three or more years of progressive accounting experience, including exposure to supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
Skills and Technical Expertise
Strong working knowledge of financial accounting principles, general ledger functions, cost accounting, and financial reporting standards.
Experience working within large ERP and financial reporting systems (e.g., SAP, Hyperion, or similar platforms).
Proven ability to prepare and analyze journal entries, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and interpret financial data to support business decisions.
Familiarity with internal controls, audit processes, and SOX compliance requirements.
Professional accounting credentials (CPA, CMA, CA, or equivalent) or demonstrated ability to apply professional accounting standards in a regulated environment.
