About the Role
We are seeking a results-driven finance and accounting professional to support operations at our Cleveland-area manufacturing facility. This role serves as a key business partner to plant leadership, providing financial insight, performance reporting, and cost analysis to drive efficiency, profitability, and strong internal controls.
You will play a hands-on role in monthly close activities, budgeting, cost accounting, inventory oversight, and capital project support, while ensuring compliance with corporate financial standards. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to operations and influencing decisions with data.
Key Responsibilities
Own plant-level accounting activities, including preparation and posting of journal entries
Manage and coordinate the monthly financial close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Develop and analyze plant financial statements, providing clear explanations of results and variances
Prepare post-close performance reports with meaningful insights and recommendations
Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecast updates for the plant
Oversee standard cost updates and annual cost roll for manufactured products
Maintain and analyze product, project, and operational costs
Monitor spending and ensure appropriate cost controls are in place
Partner with plant leadership to improve operational efficiency and financial performance
Evaluate the financial impact of current operations and proposed initiatives
Proactively identify financial risks or performance gaps and recommend corrective actions
Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and control requirements
Oversee inventory cycle counts and support annual physical inventory processes
Assist with capital expenditure requests and track project completion and spend
Manage fixed asset activity, including capitalization, transfers, and retirements
Track cost savings initiatives and prepare required reporting
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the plant
Reconcile plant-related balance sheet accounts
Support internal, external, and statutory audits as needed
Provide ad hoc analysis and support to finance and operations leadership
Occasional travel to other manufacturing sites may be required
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA, CMA, MBA, or equivalent professional credentials preferred
3-5+ years of progressive experience in cost accounting or plant finance within a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of management accounting, inventory accounting, and cost structures
Experience working under IFRS or similar reporting standards
Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and explain results clearly
High level of proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools; PowerPoint experience for presentations
Strong systems aptitude; experience with ERP systems such as SAP preferred
Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools is a plus
Proven ability to manage projects, prioritize work, and operate independently
Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
Demonstrated ability to partner with operations and leadership teams
