Beacon Hill Financial is collaborating with a non-profit in Manhattan to bring an experienced Grants Accountant to their team. This role supports accurate billing, budget control, compliance, and audit readiness across multiple government programs. If your experience aligns, please apply!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly billing and expenditure reports for government and restricted contracts in accordance with funder requirements.
  • Perform monthly budget-to-actual variance analysis to ensure accurate billing, identify trends, and maintain strong fiscal controls.
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets for government contracts and support ongoing budget monitoring.
  • Collaborate with Contract Managers to process budget modifications, journal vouchers, and related financial adjustments as needed.
  • Enter approved budgets and modifications into the accounting system and utilize system reporting to generate billing, expenditure, and variance reports.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and well-organized financial files and documentation for each government contract.
  • Support Program staff with guidance on allowable spending, documentation standards, and contract compliance.
  • Work collaboratively with finance analysts, contracts staff, and other internal departments under the supervision of the Contract Manager.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 2+ years of finance or accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit or social services organization.
  • Demonstrated experience working with government contracts and public funding sources such as DYCD, ACS, DOE, HUD, DHS, United Way, and similar agencies.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across departments, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
