Operations Associate

Boston, MA (Hybrid)

An established investment management firm is seeking an Operations Associate to join its investment operations team. This individual will support key operational processes across investment portfolios, working closely with finance, fund management, and investor-facing teams. The role offers exposure to portfolio operations, reconciliation, reporting, process improvement initiatives, and day-to-day oversight of investment activity.

Responsibilities

* Support daily operational activities related to investment portfolios and managed accounts.
* Perform cash, position, and transaction reconciliations across multiple counterparties and service providers.
* Monitor trading activity and assist with the resolution of operational discrepancies.
* Review and reconcile records maintained by external administrators and custodians.
* Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting processes.
* Analyze investment transactions and operational workflows to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
* Partner with internal stakeholders to support fund launches, asset transfers, and other strategic initiatives.
* Identify opportunities to enhance controls, improve processes, and increase scalability.
* Assist in preparing reports and analyses for management and other business partners.
* Support a variety of ad hoc projects across operations, finance, and investment teams.

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
* Experience within investment operations, fund operations, financial services, asset management, banking, or a related environment preferred.
* Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and follow-through.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience reviewing operational, financial, or legal documentation is a plus.
* Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute across functions.

Compensation & Benefits

* Base salary is expected to fall between $70,000 and $85,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
