Payroll Specialist – Upper Marlboro, MD
Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a client in Upper Marlboro, MD in their search for a Payroll Specialist to join their team. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for processing payroll, maintaining accurate employee records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Process bi-weekly and/or semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time for all employees

Verify timekeeping records, deductions, benefits, and other payroll-related data

Maintain and update employee payroll and benefits information in the payroll system

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, tax, and labor regulations

Reconcile payroll data and prepare reports for accounting and management teams

Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax withholdings

Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure accurate and consistent data management

Assist with year-end reporting, including W-2s and other tax-related filings

Maintain confidentiality of payroll and personnel information at all times
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with KTBS (Kelly Total Benefits Solution) technology/software is highly preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

Strong knowledge of payroll laws and compliance requirements

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with payroll software systems

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
