Corporate Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to join our accounting team. This position will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with audits. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment while ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries
- Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records and accounting transactions
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciling items
- Analyze financial data and prepare management reporting packages
- Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and documentation
- Assist with fixed asset accounting, prepaid expenses, and intercompany transactions
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and accounting policies
- Partner with cross-functional departments to support business initiatives
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Participate in special projects and other accounting-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial analysis
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics GP, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CPA candidate
- Public accounting experience
- Experience in a multi-entity or corporate environment
- Experience supporting audits and internal controls
- Exposure to SOX compliance and financial process improvement initiatives
