Staff Accountant – Upper Marlboro, MD
Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a client in Upper Marlboro, MD in their search for a Staff Accountant to join the team. This is a on-site role responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and assisting with monthly and annual close processes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to contribute in a collaborative accounting environment.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.

Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.

Assist with month-end and year-end close, including accruals and schedules.

Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.

Maintain accurate accounts payable and accounts receivable records.

Provide documentation and support during audits and external reviews.

Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

3+ years of accounting experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software, experience with Sage is a plus.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
