Revenue Accountant – Arlington, VA
We are seeking a Revenue Accountant to join an established accounting team in Arlington, VA. This position will support revenue accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, and financial reporting. Candidates with a strong general accounting background and experience working with revenue-related accounts are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day revenue accounting activities
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Assist with revenue recognition and ensure transactions are recorded accurately
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Review billing activity and supporting documentation
- Research and resolve revenue and account discrepancies
- Maintain schedules, reconciliations, and accounting documentation
- Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis
- Provide supporting documentation for audit requests
- Work closely with accounting, billing, and finance teams
- Support process improvements and accounting controls
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Knowledge of GAAP and general revenue recognition principles
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience using ERP or accounting systems
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively in a team environment
- Familiarity with ASC 606
Preferred Experience:
- Revenue accounting or revenue recognition experience
- Experience reviewing contracts or billing documentation
- Previous experience supporting internal or external audits
