Beacon Hill Financial is working with a non-profit based in D.C. to bring a quick-learning Accounting Assistant to their growing team. This hybrid position, based in Washington, D.C., offers a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a working knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing

Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records in accounting software

Support monthly bank and credit card reconciliations

Assist with the preparation of journal entries and basic financial reports

Help maintain organized digital and physical filing systems

Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve billing or payment issues

Provide administrative support to the accounting and finance team as needed
Qualifications:

Associate’s degree or equivalent coursework in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred)

1+ year of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred

Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics)

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and collaborate in a hybrid work environment
