Accounting Manager – Washington, D.C.
Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a local organization in Washington, D.C. to identify an Accounting Manager to join their growing team. This role will oversee core accounting operations, lead a small team, and ensure financial accuracy and compliance across various processes. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of GAAP, proven leadership experience, and a successful track record in managing accounting operations. Nonprofit experience is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Provide day-to-day supervision of accounting staff, including Accounts Payable, the Accounting Coordinator, and Accounting Specialist.

Accounts Payable Oversight: Manage the full lifecycle of the accounts payable process, ensuring compliance with internal controls, accurate coding, and adherence to GAAP.

Corporate Credit Card Management: Review and approve credit card transactions, ensuring they are properly documented, coded, and compliant with internal policies.

Cash & Investment Monitoring: Track daily cash activity, recommend intercompany transfers, and act as liaison with banks and investment partners regarding balances, fees, and reporting.

Journal Entry Review: Oversee the preparation and posting of journal entries related to accruals, asset depreciation, allocations, and other general ledger adjustments.

Account Reconciliations: Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations for key accounts, including cash, accounts payable, and liabilities.
