Accounting Manager – Alexandria, VA
Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a local nonprofit organization in Alexandria, VA in the search for an Accounting Manager to join their growing team. This hybrid position will oversee key accounting operations, manage a small team, and ensure accuracy and compliance across financial processes. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of GAAP, proven leadership experience, and a track record of managing accounting functions in a dynamic environment. Nonprofit experience is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Supervise and provide daily oversight for the Accounts Payable team, Accounting Coordinator, and Accounting Specialist.

Accounts Payable Oversight: Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payments while adhering to internal policies and GAAP.

Corporate Credit Card Management: Review and approve credit card transactions, ensuring proper coding, documentation, and compliance with company policies.

Cash & Investment Monitoring: Monitor daily cash balances, recommend intercompany transfers, and coordinate with financial institutions on service issues and reporting.

Journal Entry Review: Review and post journal entries related to accruals, asset management, allocations, and adjusting entries.

Account Reconciliations: Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations for key accounts such as cash, accounts payable, and debt.
